Update from your IAM Aerospace Coordinators:

Federal Mediator Charlie Griffen contacted IAM Aerospace Coordinators at 4 PM on Tuesday, Jan 17, and informed them that Boeing Director of Labor Relations Tom Easley asked for a meeting with the IAM Negotiating Committees at all facilities currently on strike in Alabama, Florida and California to resume negotiations. Due to the discouraging results of meeting with Boeing last Monday, Jan 9, the Aerospace Coordinators have requested that our International President, R. Thomas Buffenbarger, contact the Director of Federal Mediation, Arthur Rosenfeld, in Wash, D.C. The IAM wishes to ensure that Boeing is not abusing the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services with this request, and to ensure the request is a good-faith offer to return to the negotiating table, and not another ruse to discourage our members on strike.
