Daily Update - Local Lodge 2766

Update from your IAM Aerospace Coordinators:

We met today with Boeing representatives in Seattle, WA, to review outstanding issues in the dispute that led to a strike on Nov. 2. Boeing declared they are still unwilling to move from their current positions on retiree health care and shifting health care costs to hourly employees.

Despite numerous suggestions that could serve as the basis for restarting talks, Boeing refuses to alter their final positions. The issues we are facing are worth fighting for. Boeing is a profitable company and if they are allowed to decrease our current benefits, there is no telling where or when they will stop.

Rest assured your Union is doing everything possible to bring this dispute to a satisfactory conclusion. Your support and solidarity remains our greatest bargaining asset.

In Solidarity,

Your Negotiating Committee
